The Minister of Conservation is inviting interested agencies and organisations to send her nominations of people they consider suitable to be the Chairperson of the Queen Elizabeth the Second National Trust Board.

Nominees should have a good understanding of rural land issues and conservation values, empathy with rural landowners, and be respected within farming circles.
Nominees should have strategic capability and leadership qualities in addition to chairing ability and excellent relationship skills.
Experience and understanding of the governance role of boards of directors and the prudential responsibility of trustees is required. Business and financial acumen are desirable, as is experience working within the public sector (broadly defined).
The Board meets five times a year for two days in different locations around the country. Additional duties are required between meetings. The total time commitment is in the order of 20 days per annum.
A daily meeting fee of $290 is paid and expenses are met directly or reimbursed.
