The Penguin Field Guide to New Zealand Archaeology

The field guide is the only comprehensive national guide to New Zealand’s outstanding archaeological attractions.
Sites range from the Moahunter site at Wairau Bar (750 years old) to goldmining in the Karangahake Gorge.
More than 200 sites are covered. Each site or location includes key points of interest, access details, walking routes around the site and how to appreciate its features.
The guide also contains an overview of the many types of archaeological sites in New Zealand and includes comprehensive region by region coverage. It is illustrated with more than 200 photographs and line drawings.
